CANYON’S UNRELEASED SPEEDMAX CFR TT BIKE DOMINATES ELITE WOMEN’S INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL AT UCI ROAD CYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Montreal, Canada – On the opening day of the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montreal, Canada, Canyon celebrated a landmark 1-2 podium on the latest version of its wind-cheating, speed machine.

Drawing from the same DNA as Canyon’s Speedmax triathlon bike, which was released earlier this year, the bike that looks set to be the new TT version of the Speedmax, powered Reusser around the 39.2 km course in 50m 24s to earn the bike rainbow bands on its first race outing.

At least for the first part of the race, it looked as though those rainbows would be heading towards the British rider, who led the race after the first two checkpoints. But a huge display of power from Reusser in the final section of the course allowed the Swiss rider to celebrate her birthday in style, taking the win on the city-centre course 40 seconds ahead of Bäckstedt.

Speaking about the new bike, Marlen Reusser said: “With the new Speedmax, the bike and the cockpit feels much more integrated, like a complete system, all working together as one. You really notice it in the aero extensions: the bike stays incredibly stable, even on rough roads or when hitting small bumps. It feels fast, controlled and almost like it’s running on rails.”

The victory marks a world-class debut for Canyon’s latest Canyon Factory Racing (CFR) development platform. Engineered at Canyon’s head quarters in Koblenz, Germany, the unreleased Speedmax CFR TT looks like it has been designed to push the boundaries of aerodynamic efficiency, structural stiffness, and ergonomic customisation under full UCI compliance.

The 1-2 podium placing in Montreal surely marks the culmination of an intensive development cycle as Canyon prepares the next-generation Speedmax CFR TT for a future commercial release. Further details around the technical specifications, global availability and launch dates will be announced by Canyon in the coming months.
