CANYON RIDER ALEJANDRA NEIRA WINS 2026 UCI JUNIOR WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROAD RACE

Montreal, Quebec, Friday 25 September - Canyon rider Alejandra Neira burst from the five-strong final selection to emerge victorious in today's Junior Women's Road Race at the 2026 UCI Road Cycling World Championships in Montreal, Quebec.

After initially escaping with two riders, the three-person break was caught by a further two in the closing kilometres, leading to a tense finale along the uphill finishing straight. But Neira's huge burst of speed was enough to propel her to victory in a winning time of 2 hours 21 minutes 00 seconds.

Neira, who rides for Team Movistar, becomes the third Canyon rider in a row to take the rainbow bands in the Junior Women's World Championship road race following Paula Ostiz in 2025 and Cat Ferguson in 2024.

With Canyon's aero race bike, the Aeroad CFR, as her bike of choice, which comes in sizes down to 2XS, Neira raced 6 laps of the 13.5 km city centre course, making light work of the 1.6-km, 7.7 percent Voie Camillien-Houde climb, to finish with an average speed of 34.24 km/h (21.28 mph) and approximately 1,610 m (5282 ft) of climbing.
