CANYON ATHLETES DOMINATE UCI MTB WORLD CUP SERIES WITH OVERALL TITLES ACROSS DOWNHILL AND CROSS-COUNTRY
Koblenz, Germany - October 5, 2026: Canyon athletes Aletha Ostgaard, Jenny Rissveds and Valentina Corvi capped off a hugely victorious season at Lake Placid last weekend, claiming the overall titles across downhill and cross-country disciplines.
Aletha Ostgaard secured the Junior Downhill World Cup overall title, Jenny Rissveds claimed the Elite Women's Cross Country Olympic (XCO) overall title, and Valentina Corvi bagged a double win, taking both the U23 Short Track (XCC) and U23 Cross-Country (XCO) overall titles.
In the Junior Women’s Downhill category, American powerhouse Aletha Ostgaard delivered a commanding season aboard the Canyon Sender CFR. Ostgaard posted standout wins throughout the World Cup series—including World Cup victories in South Korea, La Thuile, Andorra, Haute-Savoie, and Whistler.
Engineered for the demands of modern World Cup downhill racing, the Canyon Sender CFR provided Ostgaard with the rear-wheel traction, high-speed stability, and tunable geometry needed to tame everything from harsh rock gardens to monster jumps across the World Cup season.
Consistent performance at the top of the podium secured her the coveted Junior Downhill World Cup overall title - her last as it happens, she will step up to Elite level in 2027.
Swedish star Jenny Rissveds proved unbeatable in the Elite Women’s Cross-Country Olympic (XCO) overall standings. Rissveds racked up crucial back-to-back series victories, including dominant XCO and XCC performances at Lenzerheide, La Thuile, Saalfelden-Leogang and Andorra.
Rissveds’ campaign was powered by the Canyon Lux World Cup CFR. Weighing among the lightest full-suspension race frames on the circuit, the Lux World Cup delivers explosive power transfer on steep climbs while its progressive 120/110mm suspension kinematics and geometry allowed Rissveds to navigate technical descents with composure.
Italian prodigy Valentina Corvi completed a championship double, claiming both the U23 Women’s Short Track (XCC) and Cross-Country Olympic (XCO) overall series crowns. Corvi established total dominance in the U23 division, highlighted by seven XCO and three XCC World Cup wins (South Korea, Saalfelden-Leogang, Lenzerheide, La Thuile, Andorra, Haute-Savoie and Soldier Hollow) alongside the UCI MTB U23 World Championship title at Val di Sole and the Italian National Championship title.
Also riding the Canyon Lux World Cup CFR, Corvi benefited from the bike’s double-duty versatility. Its anti-squat efficiency enabled the explosive acceleration required for high-intensity XCC short-track sprints, while its lightweight, durable carbon construction provided maximum energy conservation over full-length XCO races.
