Monday 31st August 2026: Canyon's U23 Cross-country rider Valentina Corvi lived up to her billing as one of the favourites with a dominating World Championship win yesterday in front of huge support from her hometown crowd.

With a Team Relay title already in the bag, the 21-year-old lived up to the pressure on her young shoulders to claim her second gold medal at the Val di Sole World Championships and give her the XCO (Olympic Distance) Under-23 rainbow jersey for the year ahead.

Leading from the gun, Valentina quickly gapped her nearest rivals and held a healthy advantage throughout the race, finishing in 1h 19m 34s with a 43-second gap to the second placed Swiss rider.

Valentina has certainly been no stranger to the podium this year, taking her Lux World Cup CFR to six Olympic distance (XCO) and three Short distance (XCO) Cross Country World Cup wins already. And with several races still to run, it looks like a season of XC domination for the talented Italian. To see what it means to Valentina, check out the behind-the-scenes footage on Canyon's MTB Instagram page.

A bike to dominate

The step-up in Valentina's results has gone hand-in-hand with the launch of Canyon's new Lux World Cup CFR. Coming from Canyon Factory Racing's advanced development program, the Lux World Cup is a now an even lighter race machine, packed with features to give more control on the toughest descents.

Launching at the end of April 2026, coinciding with the start of Valentina's season, it's clearly a bike that suits her well - of the 19 races she's finished this season, she's won 11 and only been off the podium in three.
