A cutting-edge combination of hub dynamo, internal battery, BlackBox software and USB-C output, ECLIPS entirely removes the puzzling of powering up your devices. That means no more worries about rationing run times when you’re on-the-move, or concerns of devices running out of charge when you’re off-grid or staying late at a social.

ECLIPS stands for Endless Charge & Lighting Integrated Power System and its unique, innovative design means you’ll never get left in the dark on your adventures. Even when you’re not moving. That’s because unlike other systems, ECLIPS is not merely a dynamo or a power bank. It’s a combined system that constantly, efficiently and smartly directs the energy your progress produces to where it’s needed.

How does ECLIPS work?

ECLIPS mounts a SON Dynamo, Lupine front light, rear light and battery as well as a USB-C outlet port seamlessly into the bike’s frame and fork. The internal BlackBox controller also works with both the Canyon smartphone app and on-board switches and displays. This allows accurate charge communication, mode control and lighting to recharging ratio management both on and off the bike. The result? A truly invaluable innovation in adventure biking.

Sleek SON 29 S - the most efficient dynamo

Sleek. Silent. The new SON 29 S hub dynamo takes just 3 watts to power the ECLIPS system so you’ll barely feel it. And with fully integrated wiring, you’ll barely see it either. Yet despite it’s miniscule size, it will still power both front and rear lights at over 15 km/h and deliver a battery charge rate of +12% at over 20 km/h.

Below these speeds the ECLIPS battery combines with the dynamo for seamless, flicker-free lighting even at walking pace. This all makes ECLIPS a literally brilliant way to extend your adventures as efficiently as possible.

Robust and proven Lupine battery power

Protected inside the down tube of the frame, the ultra-efficient, super durable ECLIPS Lupine Smartcore Fastclick battery packs a 3500mAh capacity. That’s enough to charge a smartphone from flat to full via the built in USB-C port. It still powers your lights when speed drops or you’re completely stopped too, so you’re never left in the dark on the steepest climbs or when setting up camp.

Lupine power to light it up

Renowned lighting experts Lupine were the obvious choice for the ECLIPS collab. With up to 1000 Lumen of power and a beam distance of 250m the Nano SL front headlight has the punch to make technical night riding as easy as a day trip. The seamless seat clamp-mounted Lupine C14 rear light packs in 14 LEDs. Producing up to 45 Lumens of power across a 240 degree arc to keep you safe in traffic.

USB-C charge port to connect, charge and go

Charge your phone, GPS or other devices on-the-go with the easy to access USB-C output at the base of the spacer stack. Perfect for staying on track, in touch and safe when you’re out in the unknown. You can also use the port to top up the Lupine ECLIPS battery from an external power source.

Canyon BlackBox brain & App control

The on board Canyon BlackBox software ensures a consistent power supply so there’s none of the normal dynamo flicker or dimming when you slow down or stop. The system also makes the most efficient use of stored power with a specific ‘Camping mode’ to keep you lit when you’ve stopped to eat, set up camp or if you’re fixing a mechanical. Lighting modes and power-to-recharge ratios can also be managed, and detailed charge states are shown through the ECLIPS section on the Canyon App.
