Deep in Canyon’s DNA is their commitment to pro sports and athlete performance. It’s an integral part of Canyon’s history thanks to the belief of company founder, Roman Arnold, and it’s a core focus of all product research and developments to this day. So it’s no surprise that Canyon’s new DH and Freeride athlete roster is packed with high-performance talent this coming year.
From riders who send it at Crankworx or Masters of Dirt to those consistently challenging at the top end of the leader board on the Downhill World Cup circuit, here’s an overview of the household names and up-and-coming stars who’ll be bringing the stoke to the circuit and pushing Canyon’s Downhill bikes to their limits in 2024.
With the Sender as their weapon of choice, the Canyon CLLCTV Factory Team includes a mix of emerging talents and established riders like Troy Brosnan (AU, left), Luca Shaw (US) and Mille Johnset (NO, right).
Canyon also proudly continues its CFR-level support for Canyon CLLCTV FMD Racing, home to Tahnée Seagrave (UK), Phoebe Gale (GB), Oliver Zwar (SWE) and Rudi Eichhorn (GB).
Racing for the Canyon CLLCTV Pirelli team will be Henry Kerr (IR), Luca Lagneau (FR), Junior World Champion Henri Kiefer (DE, below left), Dante Silva (US), and Gloria Scarsi (IT).
All riders will use the Sender as their primary bike. With its supple suspension, slack and adjustable geometry and low centre of gravity, it smooths out the roughest courses and toughest tracks.
Flying solo in the sport can be tough but for all the knocks these riders take, they are as hard as nails with the scars to prove it. They treat gravity as an inconvenient obstacle in their creation of mind-blowing edits and jaw-dropping tricks and in their testing frames to their very limits. Their skills on a bike may come with a don’t-try-this-at-home warning but their Torque, Torque:ON, Sender and Stitched bikes are built to withstand all the abuse they’re subject to.
One rider who has taken video edits to a new level in his years with Canyon is Fabio Wibmer whose YouTube and Instagram channels boast over 10 million followers and subscribers. Watch out for new edits from Fabio on his street-ready Stitched CFR Trial that he helped to develop.
Elsewhere you can expect an equal amount of incredible edits and strong-arm shovel work from Kaos Seagrave (UK), Harriet Burbidge Smith (AU, pictured left), Ryan McNulty (US), Sam Soriano (US), Tim Bringer (FR), Griffin Paulson (US), Lukas Skiold (SW), Olivia Silva (US), Canyon Jones (US), Baxter Maiwald (AU), Gabriel Wibmer (AU), Tomomi Nishikubo (JP), Sam Pilgrim (UK), Brad Simms (US, pictured right), and Josh Dove (AU). Plus motocross and supercross legend Ken Roczen (DE) continues to represent with his Torque:ON CF Roczen edition.
As well as Downhill and Freeride/Trials riders, Canyon also sponsors riders in Enduro as well as Road, Gravel, XC and Marathon racing categories. For inspiring racing content from the year ahead, give your favourite athletes a follow or keep an eye on Canyon’s Instagram channel for another season of outstanding victories on Canyon bikes.
