Team Pursuit victory makes it four in a row for remarkable Danes, plus Madison gold for Carl-Frederik Bevort and Lasse Leth.
For the fourth year in a row, Team Denmark emerged victorious at the Track World Championships - held this year in Shanghai - with a winning streak that stretches back to the 2023 introduction of the Speedmax CFR Track Bike.
Making its debut at the Glasgow UCI Cycling World Championships three years ago, the Speedmax CFR Track bike has shown that it is still a masterpiece of engineering and aerodynamics.
Since its introduction Team Denmark has taken the Speedmax CFR Track bike to the point of total domination in the Team Pursuit, winning gold in Glasgow in 2023, Ballerup in 2024, Santiago in 2025, and now, remarkably, in Shanghai too.
To illustrate their domination, Team Denmark - featuring Lasse Norman Leth, Carl-Frederik Bévort, Frederik Madsen, and Rasmus Pedersen - completed the 4000-metre Team Pursuit distance in 3 minutes 40.865 seconds, almost five seconds faster than the second placed Italian team, giving the quartet four fresh rainbow jerseys to add to their collections.
That wasn't enough though for Carl-Frederik Bévort and Lasse Leth. Facing off against the world's best again in Sunday's Madison, the pair set a frenetic pace, amassing an unassailable lead to wrap up the competition early and claim their second gold medals of the competition.
Notable mentions also go to Amalie Didericksen who won silver in the women’s Points race, and Frederik Madsen who recorded the same result in the men’s Individual Pursuit. Didericksen also claimed bronze in the women’s Omnium, as did Megan Jastrab in the women’s Elimination race.
