Blending XC climbing efficiency with aggressive trail geometry, the completely redesigned Lux Trail drops 200 grams while stepping up to a 140 mm/125 mm suspension platform.
Embargoed until Tuesday 14 July 2026, 11:00 CEST: Canyon’s all-new Lux Trail is a ground-up redesign for riders who demand lightning-fast climbing efficiency without sacrificing downhill confidence.
The new Lux Trail is a full-suspension 29er that delivers an edgy, fast, rail-all-day performance, build for you to play with the singletrack rather than mashing it into submission.
While it shares its performance pedigree with Canyon’s Lux World Cup, the Lux Trail is an entirely different beast. By blending the core DNA of Canyon’s pure cross-country race machines with the rugged descending capability of the Neuron CF and the progressive geometry of the award-winning Spectral, Canyon has created a feathery light, blindingly-fast trail machine that thrives on rugged terrain.
The new Lux Trail features a radical shift in geometry, delivering supreme stability at high speeds with a head angle slackened by over 2 degrees (now a stable 64.8°), an extended wheelbase, and increases in both reach and stack across all sizes.
To ensure identical, razor-sharp handling characteristics for every rider, the Lux Trail introduces size-specific chainstays:
To back up this geometry, the Lux Trail CF 7, 8 and 9 models add 20 mm more travel at the front over the previous version, coming equipped with a burly yet lightweight 140mm travel FOX 36 SL fork up front, paired with increased clearance for longer-travel dropper posts.
At the core of the Lux Trail is a sleek carbon fibre chassis that stands as one of the lightest full-suspension trail frames on the market. Through topology optimization - optimizing material distribution and algorithmically removing redundant material - and obsessive carbon engineering, Canyon managed to shave 200 grams from the previous generation, making it a svelte 1,850 grams (4.07 lbs) in size M.
Despite this massive weight reduction, the frame comfortably meets stringent Category 3 strength and impact testing standards, allowing riders to take chances on rough descents with absolute peace of mind.
The Lux Trail utilizes an ultra-efficient, single-piece carbon flex-stay rear suspension to deliver 125 mm of highly tractable, poppy rear travel, up from 115 mm.
By managing the inherent springiness of carbon fibre alongside meticulously controlled levels of anti-squat, Canyon achieved an incredibly responsive pedal platform. The redesign features increased progressivity at the sag point, providing better support during descents and enhanced stability while climbing. Additionally, an isolated post-mount brake adapter allows the seatstays to flex unrestricted, further shaving weight and smoothing out suspension performance under heavy braking.
"This Lux Trail has a playful quality to it that's seriously crazy. The things you can do on a bike this light? It's unreal." Spencer Rathkamp, Canyon pro rider.
- Optimized Internal Storage: The Lux Trail features a larger, completely watertight in-frame storage hatch with an improved lever mechanism. Each bike includes a tool storage sleeve and multi-tool.
- Wrench Less, Ride More: Built with a 3D-forged rocker link and circlip-secured bearings, the chassis boasts maximum stiffness and durability. A reduced number of small parts and clearly defined service points make the bike exceptionally easy to maintain.
- Maximum Stopping Power: Now with 180 mm rotors front and rear across all models for reliable control in any technical section.
“Our goal was nothing less than to build the lightest, fastest, and most capable short-travel trail bike. We did that by blending the trail bike capability of the Neuron CF with the lightweight, pedalling-efficient performance of the Lux Trail, slackening the head angle, increasing the stack, growing the wheelbase, giving it more travel, and tweaking the suspension kinematics. The result makes the Lux Trail both a great climber and a bike that feels nicely supportive when you’re descending. It’s now simply one of the lightest bikes in its class, and one of the slacker, more stable-at-speed downcountry bikes on the trail today,” Bastian Langlitz, Lux Trail product manager.
The Lux Trail launches with four distinct builds – from the CF 6 to CF 9 - each prioritizing versatility, lightweight performance, and incredible value, with most builds featuring Canyon XC 30 carbon fibre wheelsets with Maxxis Dissector and Recon front and rear tyres, Canyon’s SP0081 dropper post (150-170 mm), and 180 mm rotors front and rear.
The all-new Canyon Lux Trail will be available in all global markets from July 14, 2026 exclusively from Canyon.com or the Canyon App.
