Discover the all-new Canyon Grizl AL: a refined, lightweight gravel bike for adventure, commuting, and touring. Versatile, robust, and built for all terrains.
Embargoed until Tuesday 19 May, 11:00 CEST: The gravel boom has evolved into a broader all-terrain riding movement. More riders than ever realise you don’t have to travel halfway round the world to have life-affirming experiences and get that adventure kick. Whether sneaking in a midsummer overnighter, holidays touring and exploring, or just leaving traffic behind on the way into work, a highly adaptable adventure-focussed gravel bike is the right tool for multiple jobs.
This was the backdrop onto which Canyon launched their second-generation Grizl CF last summer. At the time, the only open question remaining was: What’s the deal with the Grizl AL?
Following the trail of one of the best-selling gravel bikes on the market, today Canyon proudly presents a new generation of the all-new, radically refined Grizl AL.
Stripped of complexity yet armed with all you need, the Grizl AL is here to fuel any rider’s wanderlust. Load it up with racks and bags for continental cruising, strip it down for summer evening blasts, attach fenders and a lock for commuting duties, the new Grizl AL truly is one bike for all adventures.
- Radically refined aluminium frame: The Grizl AL has an all-new, hard-charging, smooth finish aluminium frame that can take a beating, yet is also a whole 120 g lighter than its predecessor. That gives riders performance they can depend on, whether out of range in the wilds, ripping singletrack in the woods, or railing it home after the working day is done.
- More mounts. More options: Load it up or strip it back. Racks or no racks. Attach bottles, cargo cages, locks, the works, even a “pizza” rack up front to make it easier to pack more for that next trip. And when the weather turns? Grizl AL can run the Canyon DEFEND Fast Fenders for ultimate wet weather protection you can install and remove in seconds.
- Tyre clearance riders need: Every Grizl AL comes equipped with 45 mm tyres, but the frame has clearance to take up to 54 mm, which is the same as a 2.1” mountain bike tyre. That gives riders a huge range of options to dial in their setup for the terrain that’s on the doorstep and the riding they do most.
- Simple. Reliable. Robust: Aluminium bars on the Grizl AL are sculpted and shaped to reduce pressure points and have 16° of flare to increase control on fast descents. With a standard 1 1/8” steerer, simple external cable routing, round 27.2 mm seatpost and threaded T47 BB standard, the Grizl AL is built for reliability and simple maintenance, ready for the toughest gravel riding conditions.
- All the gear: Racks, packs and adventure accessories that are the perfect match for the Grizl AL are all available to add when purchasing online at canyon.com, including Canyon's standout LOAD Fidlock QuickLoader strapless frame pack.
Despite this complete overhaul with a raft of new features and capabilities, the Grizl AL doubles down on its predecessor’s value proposition. With three models in the line-up starting from just €1299, the Grizl AL truly is the perfect gateway to real gravel and adventure riding.
- Grizl 5: Potential to establish itself as the best-value gravel bike on the market, Shimano CUES one-by shifting, hydraulic disc brake control and a carbon seatpost all for €1299.
- Grizl 6: A step up the ladder for fans of SRAM Apex 1x12 Double Tap shifting performance, finished with Schwalbe G-One RX tubeless-ready tyres, available for just €1799.
- Grizl 7 ESC: A full, adventure-ready gravel setup for €1999, featuring the standout, highly adaptable Full Mounty cockpit, the latest evolution of the iconic VCLS 2.0 flex seatpost, Shimano's Shimano RX610 GRX shifting plus wide-range 10-51 cassettes to make light work of the steepest off-road climbs.
The Grizl AL is now available worldwide in multiple colour options across a seven-size range from 2XS to 2XL, exclusively from Canyon.com or the Canyon App.
