World-class squads and next-generation talents. Canyon equips Alpecin Premier-Tech and Movistar Team with elite CFR technology for the 2026 season.
Embargoed until Friday, 30 January 2026, 11:00 CET: In 2026 Canyon once again stands shoulder-to-shoulder with WorldTour powerhouses Alpecin-Premier Tech and Movistar Team, united by a hunger for victory that spans from the brutal cobblestones of the Spring Classics to the soaring peaks of the Grand Tours.
But raw talent requires world-class tools. To turn this ambition into results, the teams rely on the cutting-edge precision of Canyon’s CFR (Canyon Factory Racing) machinery. The collaboration ensures that every watt of rider power is translated into pure speed. With the season already in motion, Canyon backs a roster that blends proven icons with explosive young talent, all equipped with the technology to animate the race and chase glory on every terrain.
The 2025 season laid a strong, results-based foundation for the year ahead, highlighted by decisive performances across the WorldTour calendar.
- Within the Alpecin set-up, Mathieu van der Poel (NL) secured his record-equalling seventh Cyclocross World Championships title. He once again shaped the Spring Classics with Monument victories at Milano–Sanremo and Paris–Roubaix, and won a stage of the Tour de France, confirming his status as a true generational talent.
- Alongside him, Jasper Philipsen (BE) confirmed his reputation as one of the peloton’s top sprinters by winning the opening stage of the latest Tour de France and delivering podium finishes at the Vuelta a España.
- The season included a WorldTour stage victory by Javier Romo (ES) from Movistar Team at the Santos Tour Down Under, alongside consistent GC performances from teammate Enric Mas (ES) in races such as the Volta a Catalunya.
More than a Classics specialist, Mathieu van der Poel is a rider who defines races. His explosiveness, race intelligence and ability to shape decisive moments make him a central figure in the biggest one-day events and a constant reference point in the World Tour peloton.

Direct rider feedback and real-world race data are the driving forces behind the Canyon Factory Racing (CFR) programme. By developing its platforms in close collaboration with professional athletes, Canyon ensures that input from the pro peloton flows directly into the engineering process to define the technical foundation of the brand's road line-up.
Across the season, the teams will primarily rely on the Aeroad CFR. As the brand’s flagship, it is chosen for its aerodynamic efficiency and all-round race capabilities. Through the MyCanyon programme, this WorldTour-proven platform is now also open to individual customization, allowing riders to personalise fit, components, and design on the exact same frame used by the pros.
For climbing-intensive stages where weight and handling are paramount, the Ultimate CFR remains the weapon of choice, while the Speedmax CFR TT completes the line-up for the race against the clock. Insights gained from these platforms feed directly back into production, ensuring that performance proven in the WorldTour translates beyond the professional peloton.
Beyond its professional racing teams, Canyon is also represented on the road by a select group of ambassadors who will be riding Canyon bikes throughout the season. Among them is Alejandro Valverde (ES), whose long-standing relationship with Canyon continues beyond his WorldTour career. Former professional Rick Zabel (DE) brings experience from the professional peloton, while Alec Briggs (UK) represents the London-based Tekkerz racing collective, known for its presence in criterium and cross racing. Football goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (DE) is regularly seen riding Canyon bikes, reflecting his long-standing interest in cycling alongside his professional career.
The ambassador line-up is completed by German TV presenter Kai Pflaume (DE) and crit racer Dante Young (US). Of course, the RAD RACE collective from Germany can’t be left out either: Canyon’s long trusted Experience Partner and community focused collective with locations in Berlin and Hamburg, connecting performance cycling with community rides, events and urban cycling culture.
