Embargoed until 11:00h CEST, Tuesday 1st July 2025: When Canyon launched the original Grizl four years ago it was a huge right-time-right-bike success. Rugged, reliable and super-versatile, it grabbed the increasingly adventurous spirit of gravel and rode it even further out into the wilds. But why stop there? Canyon saw the yearning for life-changing exploration and made the all-new Grizl unstoppable, adaptable and resilient for the modern-day all-terrain bicycle adventurist.
Made for known unknowns and unknown unknowns, the new Grizl is infinitely adaptable for all adventures. Here are the headlines on all the newness:
The new Grizl CF line-up is now built on one strong, adaptable carbon frame platform. This bike is so capable, Canyon wanted to do it justice with a portfolio that caters for riders across the spectrum.
That’s right, one becomes two: Canyon now has the Grizl OG and the Grizl Escape. Both have the same light but super tough carbon frame, the same ‘always get you home’ handling, and the same adventure-enabling baseline features, but each is built differently.
The Grizl OG is so-called because it’s closest to Canyon’s original super popular, party-paced adventure anarchist. It’s designed and detailed for riders who want their far to be as much fun as possible.
The Grizl Escape is the wild one. Canyon’s ultra bike for multi-day horizon hunters who want the ultimate partner for pushing limits and finding peace in wild places. Did we mention the handlebar yet? Surely you know Canyon has some form when it comes to handlebar innovation…
For those seeking a trusty all-rounder for sunset spins, weekend rips, and best-days-ever we made the Original Graveller line, or OG for short. For those packing up and heading for the horizon, the Escape line is optimised for multi-day long-distance riding and trips of a lifetime.
- 'Pure gravel’ gearing from SRAM XPLR or Shimano GRX ranges give big gear bandwidth without big gear gaps.
- Canyon’s conventional HB0067 round bar and ST0046 stem provide gently flared and swept-back comfort with full angle adjustability.
- ‘Mullet’ gearing with mountain bike cassettes for winching big loads or blown legs up the longest, steepest climbs.
- F132 One fork has 40 mm of LINEAIR air-sprung travel gives comfort and cornering-enhancing plush while saving reserve control for the nasty stuff you notice too late.
- Profiled crowns, internal brake routing and cargo mounts for attaching equipment mean it’s sleek enough to look seamless on your bike.
- And a broad range damper complete with an internally routed lockout bar remote gives you open flow or closed climbing efficiency without the need to take your hands off the bars.
Standing for Endless Charge & Lighting Integrated Power System, this tech is also big enough to have a press release all of its own, but here’s the essential intel:
- ECLIPS totally removes the puzzling from powering and charging your lights and devices when you’re on the move and off-grid.
- A SON front wheel dynamo adds friction-free recharging to keep the Smartcore battery topped up for true ‘as far as you can’ freedom.
- Wiring and the Lupine Smartcore battery are all fully internal for ultimate protection and clean, gear-friendly aesthetics.
- The Lupine Nano SL headlight and C14 rear light are ultra compact but powerful enough to push on through the night safe from the trail and traffic.

Introduced as the latest chapter in Canyon’s portfolio, Canyon’s new gravel wheels complete the total Canyon performance system for gravel bikes. Developed in partnership with DT Swiss, Canyon’s new GR 30 wheelset features a DT 350 Spline hub with Aerocomp spokes, and hookless 30 mm deep carbon rims with a 27 mm internal width to give a flat bed and a wide contact patch for running low pressure grippy tubeless tyres.
If you’re going Grizlin’ you’re going to want to consider accessories. Up front on the Full Mounty the LOAD Cockpit Bag, Extensions, Food Pouch and Grizl Front Rack are options. The Fidlock Quickloader, Long Top Tube Bag and Universal Rear Rack are further options. And to keep you clean, 50 mm Fast Fenders will be your friend when the weather isn’t.
The new Canyon Grizl is available from Tuesday 1st July starting with the Grizl CF 6 at €2,399, the range tops out with the Grizl CF 9 with ECLIPS lighting at €7,999. In the US customers have the option of the Grizl CF 6, CF 7 Escape and 8 ECLIPS Escape.
Check out the new Grizls in person at Canyon’s Koblenz, Munich or Carlsbad stores, or online at Canyon.com or on the Canyon App where you can find additional resources and specification information.
