MEDIA INVITATION: CANYON TRIATHLETES AT KONA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Your chance for pro bike checks and to put questions to Sam Laidlow, Patrick Lange and Jan Frodeno ahead of the Men’s 2024 World Championships in Kona.

If you’re heading to the big island this month, you’ll have the opportunity to put your questions to Canyon athletes Sam Laidlow, Patrick Lange and Jan Frodeno, all of whom will be available for media interviews and bike checks at the Lava Java café ahead of Ironman Kona, which takes place on Saturday 26th October 2024.

Not only will this be the best chance to put questions to some of the race favourites but you’ll also have the opportunity to check out their race-ready machines, including the new prototype Canyon CFR cockpits being used by Sam Laidlow and Patrick Lange.

Between Tuesday 22nd October to Thursday 24th October you’ll have three opportunities for media content with some of the race favourites.

Sam Laidlow – Title Defence Press Conference

Tuesday 22nd October, 08:00-09:30

Reigning champion Sam Laidlow will be hosting his title defence press conference over breakfast at Lava Java. Last year Sam became the youngest winner of the Ironman World Championships and the first Frenchman to earn the coveted title, winning with a near 4-minute margin over Patrick Lange. Sam often peaks when it really matters so you can expect him to animate proceedings on race day, equipped with a prototype Canyon CFR cockpit on his Speedmax CFR.

Ahead of the big day Patrick will be co-hosting a Beers & Bikes pub quiz with Erdinger non alcoholic. You’ll also have the opportunity to turn the tables to quiz him on his chances this year and find out exactly what advantages his new Canyon cockpit configuration gives him.

Now acting as a Canyon ambassador, the recently retired German superstar still keeps his Canyon pedals turning. With Pro Tri News podcast host and fan favourite Mark Matthews asking the questions, Jan will offer tips and tricks to help the age group athletes in the room crack the Kona code.

Where do the press meetings take place?

All press conferences and meet and greets take place at Canyon's House of Champions at Lava Java, 75-5801 Ali'i Drive, Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
