Canyon adds two new bikes to their Young Heroes range: the Lux World Cup Young Hero and Exceed Young Hero
As the name implies, the Young Hero models are designed for teenage riders who are serious about their biking, with prices that make the range accessible for competitive beginners.
Made using the same carbon fibre frame that the XC pros race on the world's biggest stage, the Lux World Cup Young Hero is a super lightweight and efficient 100mm, full suspension bike.
The Exceed Young Hero is a carbon fibre XC hardtail that helps develop bike handling skills that last a lifetime.
Both of these 100mm travel bikes will teach young riders how to find flow, decide which line to pick, and how to ride technical trails.
They join the skill-building Grand Canyon Young Hero and trail-ready Neuron Young Hero in Canyon's Young Hero line up.
Canyon’s Young Heroes range brings the best of elite-level Canyon engineering and World Cup winning pedigree to the next generation of riders. These bikes are designed for teenagers and have been made to spark a love of mountain biking, to enjoy exploring the outdoors, and as a start to competitive riding.
On these bikes, you’ll find narrower handlebars, easy gears, 29” wheels and lightweight carbon frames. Canyon has designed these bikes so that your kids can have fun on the trails and expand their horizons.
These high performance, lightweight Lux and Exceed bikes feature carbon frames and top quality components which are reliable and easy to maintain, plus RockShox suspension with a low-speed compression adjustment and a blow-off valve for motion control damping.
Coming with smart component choices, these bikes help your kid develop core biking skills that will stay with them for a lifetime. Chainrings are smaller and cranks are shorter for easier rotation and handlebars are narrower for easier handling. The integrated seat post clamp on both bikes improves the overall ride comfort and if the rider needs it, the bikes are compatible with dropper posts – perfect for when they progress onto steeper, technical trails.
These bikes are in it for the long haul with the Impact Protection Unit (IPU) helping to keep the frame in tip-top condition. In the rare case of a crash, the IPU prevents the handlebars from over-rotating into the top tube and damaging the bike, all without limiting the handling of the bike. Also every frame can hold up to 1.5 litres of water using Canyon Fuel bottles and Canyon Sideloader bottle cages.
The Exceed Young Hero XC hardtail is built for speed, coming with a RockShox Recon Silver RL 32 fork, Shimano Deore drivetrain, and Shimano MT200 brakes.
For fast rolling performance, the bike is finished with a set of DT Swiss LN XC 29” wheels and Schwalbe Rocket Ron Performance 2.25 tyres in the front and back.
Shining bright with one of the lightest full-suspension mountain bike frames on the market, the 100mm suspension travel Lux World Cup is an uncompromising XC race machine with World Cup-winning pedigree.
The Lux World Cup Young Hero comes with the same component spec as the Exceed World Cup but adds a RockShox SID Luxe Select+ shock.
With the Exceed Young Hero costing €1,599 and the Lux World Cup costing €2,499 these are hands down two of the best value carbon XC kids bikes on the market today.
