CANYON PRESENT 2022 ALUMINIUM NEURON MODELS

KOBLENZ, 17 DECEMBER 2021 | EMBARGO UNTIL TUESDAY, 21 DECEMBER 2021, 11:00 (CET) — New places. New trails. New landscapes. The freedom to jump into the saddle and just go discover. That’s what the Canyon Neuron is all about. That’s the meaning of the Great Escape. Whether it’s leaving the 9-to-5 behind and reconnecting with nature. Or chasing adventure in the high mountains. With the Neuron – Canyon’s super-versatile, ready-for-anything trail adventure bike – the only limits are your imagination.

After recently introducing a range of fresh models built around carbon fibre frames, Canyon are following up with six aluminium Neuron models for 2022. They have the same geometry as the carbon bikes, with 140 mm front and 130 mm rear travel. There’s also a new bike for junior riders – the Neuron Young Hero, a youth MTB with high-grade parts and the same fun factor as its full-size cousins. The Young Hero features a smaller frame and components specially designed for kids – like 130 mm front and rear travel, shorter cranks, and narrower handlebars. The full-size Neuron line-up begins with the Neuron 5, with Neuron 6 and Neuron 7 models also available in both unisex and women’s-specific WMN specs. Thanks to the incredible range of sizes available, the Neuron caters for all riders – whether that’s the Neuron Young Hero in 2XS-S, Neuron WMN in 2XS-M, or unisex Neuron in XS-XL.

To create consistent riding dynamics for everyone, the Neuron uses a range of different wheel sizes, all scaled in proportion to the dimensions of the frame and rider. In concrete terms, this means that all Young Hero models, as well as adult Neuron bikes XS and smaller, roll on 27.5” wheels. Furthermore, all 2022 unisex and WMN Neuron bikes come equipped with dropper posts as standard – a must on any serious modern full-suspension trail bike. Dropper posts give riders the freedom to move their weight around more when the trail gets steep and technical, for greater riding precision and control.

As you’d expect of a versatile trail adventure bike, the Neuron comes equipped with components focused on all-round performance and durability – available at an incredibly attainable price point. After the €1,599* / C$ 2,249* Neuron Young Hero, the adult Neuron range starts with the €1,899* / C$2,649* Neuron 5, featuring a RockShox Silver fork and Deluxe Select shock, and reliable Shimano Deore 1x12 shifting. The €2,199* / C$3,049* Neuron 6 and Neuron 6 WMN both come with a FOX 34 Float Rhythm fork and FOX Float Performance DPS shock, Shimano SLX gearing, and DT Swiss LN wheels. The Neuron 7 is available in unisex trim as well as a WMN setup with women’s-specific components and a special sensitive suspension tune to give lighter riders more control on the trail. For €2,699* / C$3,649*, the bike has precise Shimano XT 1x12 shifting, a FOX 34 Float Performance fork, FOX Float Performance DPS shock, and a robust DT Swiss M 1900 aluminium wheelset.

The Neuron AL is created for adventure and trail enthusiasts of all ages who want to shape their own Great Escape, their way – whether that’s an after-work trail session or a high-Alpine epic. In the Canyon MTB range, the Neuron comes between the versatile but more downhill-oriented Spectral, and the Lux lightweight cross-country race MTB.

The new Neuron AL models will be available from Tuesday 21 December 2021, exclusively at canyon.com.
