CANYON’S NEW, AWARD-WINNING ROADLITE:ON CF INJECTS HIGH-PERFORMANCE DNA INTO A STREAMLINED, SINGLESPEED E-CITY BIKE
The Roadlite:ON CF blends a lightweight, sleek carbon frame and sporty handling with practical features that make it the perfect e-bike for round-town randonneurs and minimalist commuters
Embargoed until 11:00 CEST, Thursday 18, June 2026: e-City bikes are utilitarian by nature—getting you from point A to point B with minimal sweat and fuss. They don’t often, admittedly, set hearts aflame with dynamic handling and eye-catching design. The Roadlite:ON CF, on the other hand, is designed to do precisely that—while still meeting the practical needs of urban riders.
As a former Red Dot, T3 and Focus E-bike award winner, the previous Roadlite:ON set a very high bar for an urban bike. Its sleek carbon lines justified its premium positioning and its enviable around-town status. Yet there was room to improve and that’s exactly what the brand new Roadlite:ON has done, as evidenced by its new Red Dot Best of the Best 2026 award.
This brand-new, lightweight urban commuter is designed for quick commutes and moving efficiently through the city. It comes complete with a clean, grease-free belt-drive, singlespeed drivetrain and a 45 Nm., 400W Bosch Hub Line rear hub motor, powered by a 360 Wh battery, providing approximately 90 km +/- of range (eco mode).
While riders may initially balk at the thought of a singlespeed bike, the powerful e-bike hub motor and its support modes are designed to take the strain off your lungs and legs, leaving you free to enjoy the surroundings and the intuitive, distraction-free operation. On the new Roadlite:ON CF, there’s no being distracted by thoughts of what gear you need to tackle that next incline – the e-bike motor takes the strain. The singlespeed belt also minimises maintenance, a key priority for commuters and e-urban riders.
Canyon is a company inspired by, and dedicated to, high-performance riding—that fact is evident again in the Roadlite:ON CF’s design. The sculpted headtube and contoured top tube borrows design elements from the World Tour-winning Aeroad. The kinked top tube draws inspiration from Canyon’s Cyclocross World Championship winning Inflite and makes shouldering the lightweight e-bike easy—a true plus for anyone who has ever hauled their e-bike onto a train or up a flight of stairs.
The bike’s handling is decidedly nimble. While some riders are looking for a bike that can carry as much cargo as a rented mule, there are plenty of riders who want to take to city streets on a bike that’s a bit more playful and fun to ride.
Tipping the scales at 13.9 kg, this minimalist carbon machine is made for design-focused urbanites looking for a sleek, modern, eye-catching look, yet still includes handy features that can turn this bike into a practical pony for round-town randonneurs. Highlights include a kick stand and discreet mounts for aftermarket accessories including a phone case, bottle cages, fenders and rear rack.
The specifications feature an enviable list of components from leading providers including Bosch e-bike systems, Gates belt drive, integrated Sate front and rear lights with brake indicators, Selle Royal saddles, Alex Rims and Continental’s Grand Prix Urban tyres.
- Hub Motor system: Bosch Hub Line (45 Nm, 400W) with four pre-set modes: Eco, Tour, Auto and Turbo (customisable in the Bosch app)
“As a winner of this year’s Red Dot Best of the Best award, it’s clear that we’ve surpassed the very high standards we have for the Roadlite:ON. The bike particularly impressed the jury with a reduced, sharply defined approach to urban mobility and performance, combining a lightweight frame with a focus on efficiency and city-ready intelligence,” said Sebastian Wegerle, Canyon’s head of Urban & Recreation product development.
The Roadlite:ON features two commercial models in white or black available from 2,999 EUR exclusively from Canyon via its website or App. Interested customers can visit Eurobike 2026 to see this bike in action at the Canyon demo area, or they can visit Canyon’s new E-bike Performance Centre in Koblenz to test the bike.
