Lightweight construction, simplified closure systems, and comfort-focused fit features for riders seeking performance alongside day-to-day usability.
Embargoed until 11:00 CEST, Tuesday 2nd June, 2026 – Canyon today launches new, more affordable versions of its Tempr Road and Tempr Off-Road cycling shoes, developed to bring key performance features from Canyon’s CFR footwear programme to a broader range of riders and price points.
Available in dedicated road and off-road versions, the Tempr range combines lightweight construction, simplified closure systems, and comfort-focused fit features for riders seeking performance alongside day-to-day usability.
The Tempr Road shoe focuses on pedalling efficiency and road-riding comfort, while the Tempr Off-Road prioritises walkability and confidence for riders transitioning into gravel and clipless off-road riding.
Launched in 2024, Tempr CFR shoes were developed with insights gained from creating Canyon Factory Racing (CFR) and extensively testing products with the world’s fastest cyclists, delivering elite-level performance at a more accessible price point.
“I have never got any shoe that fit so well right from the beginning. It fits perfectly.” – Luca Schwarzbauer, Canyon XC Racing.
“It was love at first ‘try’. I received my first test pair mid-week and raced them on the weekend.” - Zoe Bäckstedt, CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto.
“Footwear is one of the hardest categories to get right because of all the different foot types. These shoes are amazing in both fit and power transfer.” – Andreas Walzer, Global Director Pro Sports, Canyon.
The Tempr Road is designed around an 8K woven carbon composite outsole intended for an optimal stiffness vs weight balance. At 285g in size 42, the shoe is for riders seeking carbon-soled, lightweight performance without the price of a full CFR-level shoe.
The seamless synthetic upper and knitted tongue are designed to improve fit and comfort across a wider range of foot shapes, while engineered perforations provide ventilation. The shoe also uses large TPU heel and toe pads to improve traction and stability when walking or stopping off the bike.
The Tempr Off-Road was developed to address one of the most common complaints from newer clipless riders: difficulty walking in stiff cycling shoes. To achieve this, the shoe uses a glass-fibre reinforced nylon sole with a flexible forefoot section positioned ahead of the cleat pocket.
The design aims to maintain pedalling efficiency while improving comfort and natural movement off the bike.
A large rubber outsole improves traction across mixed terrain, while an external TPU toe cap and welded TPU mudguard add durability and protection for gravel and adventure riding.
Tempr shoes have been designed for step-in comfort straight out of the box. Both models use a BOA® Li2 dial with PerformFit wrap construction to allow dual-direction micro-adjustment and distribute pressure evenly across the foot.
Both shoes also feature knitted tongue constructions for a sock-like fit, integrated heel pulls, and single-layer synthetic uppers designed to balance durability, breathability, and weight.
Canyon's new Tempr Road shoes weigh 285g (size 42) and retail for €159.95. For the same price you can pick-up Canyon's Tempr Off-Road shoes, weighing 335g, available in black and white.
Both the Canyon Tempr Road and Tempr Off-Road shoes launch globally on June 2nd 2026, available exclusively via canyon.com or the Canyon App.
