Final round win in Qatar makes it six T100 wins for the New Zealander and the overall T100 series title
Monday 15 December, 2025: Canyon athlete Hayden Wilde was finally able to take the T100 championship title last weekend, confirming victory after a near-perfect six wins this year.
While the results on the overall leaderboard may have made the final outcome look like a foregone conclusion, Wilde's early season promise - following his win at Singapore T100 - was thrown into jepoardy after a vehicle accident in May, which left the New Zealander with four broken ribs, a broken scapular and injured lungs, allowing rivals like fellow Canyon athlete Mika Noodt to gain an advantage.
After a 2-month recovery, Hayden came storming back into action in July with a win at T100 London. He backed that up with wins at the French Riviera T100, Spain T100 and Wollongong T100, and looked all set to claim the overall victory with a win at the Dubai T100. Howver, despite being one of the strongest competitors, signage issues conspired against him, and he finished in eighth place.
That meant everything came down to the final race. Luckily, with the help of the Speedmax CFR, Wilde was able to reel in the competition after the swim and establish a commanding lead going into the run, holding off the stiff challenge from Noodt, who sat in second on the overall leaderboard.
Wilde's first T100 overall victory gives the Speedmax CFR six victories in the men's competition and two in the women's competition from Julie Derron (pictured below), who, like Noodt, also finished in second place overall.
