At the men's 2025 World Championships in Nice, not only was the Speedmax the most popular bike on the course, Sam Laidlow once again demonstrated that it was the fastest.
While Canyon's male triathletes didn't manage to make it three wins in a row on the Speedmax this year, the 2023 World Champion Sam Laidlow did lay down another incredible ride, winning the bike leg with a time of 4h 29m 29s, repeating his feat from 2024's Ironman World Championships.
Laidlow's blistering pace saw him arrive at the T3 transition 48 seconds faster than his nearest rival with an average speed of 40.13 km/h (24.94 mph) over a hilly course with 2427m of elevation.
What's more, according to Slowtwitch's survey, Canyon's Speedmax also won the popularity count with almost a quarter of the competitors riding Canyon's dedicated triathlon machine, or 502 riders out of 2,199 surveyed.
So not only did Sam Laidlow once again demonstrate that the Canyon Factory Racing (CFR) version was the fastest bike on the course, the Speedmax family, with its pro-driven developments and six Ironman victories, was also the most popular bike platform on the course, and that's a true evocation of Canyon's democratised performance philosophy.
