Canyon is celebrating three World Championships medals after Henri Kiefer claimed elite silver for Germany, Marine Cabirou (France) picked up elite bronze, and Aletha Ostgaard (USA) picked up a bronze medal in the junior category.
Home-grown athlete Henri Kiefer took the next step in his astronomic development with the CANYON CLLCTV DH team by beating almost all of the world's top downhill riders in the elite men's final on Sunday.
The 20-year old built on his 2023 Junior World Championships title with a confidence-inspiring second place, beaten only by the last man down the hill.
You can see what it meant to the team with this clip from Instagram as Henri returned to the CANYON CLLCTV pits with his medal.
As Henri himself said: "A great day and an unreal day. I got second in the world with an amazing run. I can't be more happy with the team, and the brand, and what I can do. I've been with Canyon for 8 years. From my first Canyon - a Strive in the Under-13 category - to the Torque and the Sender, my whole career with Canyon and when it mattered most we showed what we're capable of."
Earlier in the day Marine Cabirou laid down another incredible performance, especially considering the broken vertabrae she sustained in July at the World Cup round in Andorra. The French woman returned to action just two weekends ago at Les Gets World Cup, surprising everyone with a second place. She followed that with another weekend on the podium in Champéry, this time having to settle for bronze - still an incredible performance considering her lack of recovery and recuperation time.
Closing out the weekend's medals, 17-year old US junior sensation Aletha Ostgaard took home the biggest title of her career so far with bronze - surely a sign of great things to come for the talented young rider.
All three riders were racing the latest version of Canyon's Sender CFR, designed and painted by Canyon to represent their nationalities and express their individualities.
With its high-pivot design and travel-devouring travel, the Sender was designed to excel in any track conditions and those design principles were certainly put to the test in Champéry.
Largely regarded as one of the steepest downhill tracks on the circuit - as this video from Henri Kiefer shows - the rain during practice and qualification made for challenging conditions. But with a rapidly drying track for the finals, CANYON CLLCTV mechanics reworked the highly tuneable Sender CFR to excel on the full-throttle Champéry dust and record medal-winning performances in the biggest race of the year.
