Based in Peterborough, Ontario, David Cathcart takes on responsibility for brand development and strategic market expansion across all major cycling segments.
Embargoed until Friday, 12 September 2025 - Canyon Bicycles this week begins a new chapter in its development with the announcement of its first dedicated Market Manager for Canada.
While consumers in Canada have been able to purchase selected Canyon bikes for many years, Canyon has never before been able to offer consumers the full extent of its product array, nor its full customer experience – from pre-purchase consultation and test-ride opportunities to post-purchase warranty and support.
David will be connecting with cycling communities and serving Canadian customers (in both official languages) with the support of Canyon’s North American sales, marketing, warehousing operations, and service teams in Carlsbad, USA, in addition to the product management and R&D expertise from Canyon’s global headquarters in Koblenz, Germany.
David will be looking to harness the latent demand for Canyon in Canada, especially in rider hotspots from sea to sea to sea, inspiring customers with engaging events and campaigns, offering world-class service and Canyon’s award-winning road, mountain and urban bikes.
David is an experienced bicycle industry professional, contributing over 25 years to the role, gained through pro sports, marketing, sales, and CMO positions at significant brands in the cycling industry. His experience includes a deep knowledge of global sales operations, crucial in understanding and reacting to the global market dynamics.

David's responsibilities will include establishing an Authorized Service Partner network, onboarding authentic local Experience Partners and identifying a network of ambassadors and market partners to support development of the Canyon brand with Canadian consumers.
David officially started his role in August and will be based in Peterborough Ontario, until a new Canyon office is established.
