Powered by Canyon's track bike - the Speedmax CFR Track - Team Denmark men's and women's teams claimed home victories and four gold medals at the Ballerup Super Arena in Denmark, the venue for the 2024 UCI World Track Championships.
The Danish Men's team - featuring Tobias Aagaard Hansen, Carl-Frederik Bevort, Niklas Larsen, and Frederik Rodenberg Madsen - edged out their British rivals by 0.3 seconds in the Men's Team Pursuit final on Thursday 17 October, continuing the strong winning record for the Speedmax CFR Track bike since its official introduction at the 2023 World Track Championships in Glasgow.
That was followed by the Danish Women's Team - featuring Amalie Dideriksen and Julie Leth - winning gold in the Madison on Saturday 19 October.
And on Sunday 20th October, both the men's and women's teams doubled up on gold. Tobias Aagaard Hansen won the Men's Elimination Race World Championship title in a dramatic two-up sprint against Italy's Elia Viviani, and Julie Leth won the Women's Points Race World Championship after a thrilling battle.
Elsewhere CANYON//SRAM Racing's Chloe Dygert came away with silver in the Individual Pursuit after setting a new World Record in the heats with a time of 3:15.663, eclipsing her own 2020 record.
Team Denmark and Team USA riders were using Canyon's Speedmax CFR Track bike which has been specifically designed for track cycling. Not only is it Canyon's fastest ever bike but also its most expensive, a testament to the hours of painstaking engineering work that it takes to develop such a thoroughbred racing machine.
The Speedmax CFR Track is a masterpiece of engineering and aerodynamic excellence, sculpted for supreme aero efficiency at the exceptionally high speeds and unique conditions of the velodrome. Its tube profiles and junctions have been fine-tuned to slice through the air, combined with an ultra-stiff carbon frame to enable track cyclists to push the limits of their performance.
The bike was introduced in 2023 after a 3-year development process. You can read more about the Speedmax CFR Track's introduction here, or you can read more about the bike's development story here.
