SEVEN-PART DOCUMENTARY GIVES VIEWERS BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK AT LIFE WITH PROFESSIONAL DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKE TEAM: FMD RACING.
KOBLENZ, GERMANY | EMBARGOED UNTIL FRIDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2022, 1700 CET — With deepest, darkest winter approaching in the Northern Hemisphere, the 2022 MTB season already feels like a speck in the rear-view mirror. To keep spirits high through the colder months and inspire riders for what’s to come in 2023, Canyon and FMD Racing are putting out an all-new Youtube series: ‘How We Roll’.
This seven-part release will showcase a fresh and raw perspective of the ups and downs of FMD’s 2022 season. Featuring riders Tahnee Seagrave, Kaos Seagrave, Phoebe Gale, Dennis Luffman and the hard working team that support them, How We Roll reveals everything that goes into being part of the MTB World Cup circus and dives behind the scenes of the biggest freeride events on the planet. “Obviously my 2022 season didn't go totally smoothly, but it's been amazing to be a part of this project with Phoebe, Kaos, Dennis and the FMD crew. It was pretty daunting to open up about my injury and the steps to recovery, but hopefully it will raise even more awareness for concussion and maybe even support other riders going through the same.” Tahnée Seagrave, FMD Racing
Concepted by Elliot Harper and lovingly crafted by Two Palms Media, the series pulls together hundreds of hours of footage collected from this past season to create an incredible, gripping, binge-worthy series. ‘
’The idea for How We Roll grew from our passion to create something previously unseen in the mountain bike scene which tells a story about the people that make up the team and the journeys they take through the season. People engage with stories and characters, not just a result on a board or a time on a clock and FMD Racing possess some of the most interesting characters in the game. When building the concept, I knew there was only one director I wanted to work with: Will Hodgett and his Two Palms crew. Coming from outside of the mountain bike world gave them the creative freedom to make How We Roll something truly unique that delivers viewers an entirely new perspective on this incredible sport.’’ Elliot Harper, Production Manager.
‘‘At the end of the day, everyone within mountain biking knows how good these guys are on a bike but what we really wanted to do is take a different angle and make something about the personalities. Real stories, showing what makes these guys tick behind the scenes. Being a fly on the wall with the team through the year was a truly unique experience for us as filmmakers. By forming a trust with the team, we were able to capture moments which show a raw and unfiltered side to the sport.’’ Will Hodgett, Director, Two Palms Media
The entire series was made possible thanks to the collective support of Canyon, Two Palms Media, Harpoon Sports Concepts, Shimano, Fox Racing, Red Bull and of course the riders and crew at FMD Racing.
“Canyon has huge respect for everything the team at FMD Racing have put into the sport for the past decade, and for all the effort that has gone into creating this next-level series. We’re stoked to be able to offer the MTB community the chance to relive the 2022 season through the eyes of the team. We hope everyone enjoys Season 1 of How We Roll.” Jack Noy, Brand Manager | Gravity MTB, Canyon Bicycles.
Episode one airs at 1700h CET on Saturday 26th November over on Canyon’s Youtube Channel. New episodes will be released weekly. Same time. Same place.
Anyone watching before Friday 20th January 2023, will also have the chance to win a custom How We Roll design Canyon Spectral 29 CF 7. Details on how to enter can be found in the Youtube description of each episode.
