CANYON DEBUTS LUX TRAIL “DOWNCOUNTRY” BIKE

KOBLENZ, August 10, 2021 | EMBARGO UNTIL THURSDAY, AUGUST 19TH, 11AM CET (10AM UTC) — Light, fast, and capable. Those three adjectives say it all. The new Lux Trail takes everything that is great about the Lux — the ultralight carbon chassis, the unreal speed and unrivalled pedalling efficiency — and adds a serious dose of capability courtesy of its downhill-friendly geometry, longer travel (120 mm) fork, dropper post, wider bars, and meatier tires.

Why a new, additional flavour of Lux? Because XC racing and riding have evolved. There’s still plenty of demand for World Cup short-travel bikes that shave every gram possible, but a lot of riders are seeking to blaze KOMs or just ride fast as hell out in the backcountry, far away from conventional racecourses. For those riders, the Lux Trail perfectly fits the bill—bringing XC speed and trail bike capability into one entirely bad-ass package.

The Lux Trail boasts a new front triangle and geometry that sees (among other things) the head angle slacken to 67.5 degrees (2.5 degrees slacker than the Lux) and the reach grow roughly 20 mm per frame size. So, yes, this new variety of Lux is longer and slacker, yet it manages to stay remarkably light (1,905 grams for a Medium frame). The Lux Trail also features stouter Fox 34 Stepcast or RockShox SID 35 forks, a bit more suspension travel (120 mm front and 110 mm rear), 125mm dropper posts on most models, 760 mm riser bars and short (60 mm) stems.

Check out Canyon’s Lux Trail press kit for the complete rundown on all models, their pricing, and availability.
