NEW CANYON ENDURACE:ONFLY SETS BENCHMARK FOR PERFORMANCE E-ROAD BIKES

Pure. Ultralight. Unreal. At sub-10kg the Endurace:ONfly flagship model is the lightest, sleekest, and most natural-feeling e-Road bike yet. Bold claim, yes, but Canyon stands by it.

Embargoed until 10:00 CEST, Wednesday, 25th June 2025: If you compare e-Road bikes to e-MTB models, one thing is immediately clear: Electric road bike evolution has lagged behind that of electric mountain bikes. The result has been a crop of electric road bikes that succeed in giving riders a power boost but often do so while imposing a significant weight penalty and sacrifice in ride quality. The all-new Endurace:ONfly changes that.

With the Endurace:ONfly, Canyon aimed to change the game with the most natural-looking and natural-feeling e-Road bike on the scene. Partnering with TQ on their all-new HPR40 drive system, Canyon have created a bike that looks and feels like a “normal” high-performance road bike with a barely discernable motor and battery hidden in the frame, yet the diminutive motor can provide as much as a 200W boost in your pedalling power.

The Endurace:ONfly’s power delivery is incredibly smooth and natural—a true extension of your own strength. The sound from the TQ system is whisper quiet, nearly non-existent. And at a mere 9.86kg, the top tier Endurace:ONfly SUB-10 model is a massive 2kg lighter than most flagship e-road models. And you feel that massive weight saving with every pedal stroke.

When you exceed 25km/h and the TQ system stops delivering power to the cranks, there’s none of the sudden sluggishness that you feel on many e-Road bikes when they cease supplying power. There’s no penalty for going fast on the Endurace:ONfly because, well, fast is good.

Ultralight, yet packed with smart features

All Endurace:ONfly models boast carbon frames, with Canyon’s flagship SUB-10 model using NeoBeam technology (which allows frame tube wall thickness to be reduced without compromising strength) to shave more than 300 grams from the already featherweight from the carbon chassis. The Endurace:ONfly SUB-10’s use of NeoBeam marks the first time IsoGrid-style technology has been applied to moulded carbon frames and represents the pinnacle of composite manufacturing.

Despite being ultralight, each of the four Endurace:ONFly models also features an integrated anti-theft motion detector and GPS tracker, visible through the Canyon App. All models also sport a LightSKIN U1 Ultra headlight, and Canyon X Lupine SightStays, which ensure that you see and are seen when riding in all conditions. Speaking of all conditions, the Endurace:ONfly has clearance for 700x35 tires—even when you are running Canyon’s DEFEND fast fenders.

There are four Endurace:ONfly models, ranging in price from €4,499 to €9,999. Each is available in 7 sizes (2XS-2XL), all of which wear 700c wheels.

High-quality components:

  • Supernatural power: Canyon worked with TQ to ensure that the all-new HPR40 system delivers the most seamless power boost possible. The HPR40 is tiny, mighty, quiet, and revolutionary.
  • High efficiency. Impressive range: Each Endurace:ONfly features a fully integrated, 290Wh TQ battery. With the optional TQ 160Wh water bottle-style range extender on board, most riders can easily crank out more than 100 kilometers and 2,000 meters of climbing from a full charge.
  • Powerful stoppers: Higher average speeds require greater stopping power, which is why each model also features 180mm (front and rear) disc brake rotors.
  • All-road clearance: At home on the road but still down to get dirty when the pavement ends, the Endurace:ONfly’s 35 mm of tyre clearance helps it excel on everything from smooth tarmac to mild gravel routes.
  • Full control. No clutter: The Endurace:ONfly’s minimalist bar-end remote displays power status and lets you change modes. With Ultegra and Dura-Ace-equipped models you can also control the motor directly from the hoods. Finally, it only takes seconds to wirelessly connect your bike computer or smart phone to the TQ system, for full power and range metrics.
  • Made to measure: With 7 sizes available (2XS to 2XL), the Endurace:ONfly fits a wide range of riders.

Backing up the bold claim of being the lightest, sleekest and most natural e-road bike on the market Bastian Langlitz, Canyon Product Manager explains: “We set out to create a new benchmark for e-road bikes, designing a bike that catches your eye with how it looks, how little it weighs, how it handles and how it uses tech like always-on lights, performance tuning and anti-theft to build the best e-road bike currently on the market.”
