Embargoed until Thursday 9 April, 11:00 CEST: Canyon is proud to present their groundbreaking all-road race bike – the all-new Endurace CFR – a bike born from a simple idea: confidence and comfort on rough terrain reduces fatigue and unlocks more speed.

Engineered for the exceptional

The Endurace CFR has been developed in close collaboration with Alpecin–Premier Tech, cycling’s most successful Spring Classics team. Their feedback and demands pushed Canyon from day one. In an age of tyre width progression with riders racing faster than ever over the cobbles, Endurace CFR is an ace up the sleeves for riders to turn to during the Classics, whenever conditions are their worst.

“The most important thing for us is reliability. The bike has to be fast. It has to be good. But we are asking people to take risks, so in the end it has to be reliable.” Christoph Roodhoft, Alpecin-Premier Tech Team Manager.

Made to master the toughest conditions in racing

The Endurace CFR is built different. Sharing technology with the Aeroad CFR, a bike Mathieu van der Poel has raced to win the past three editions of Paris-Roubaix, it takes race bike capability and durability to the next level, without sacrificing speed.

  • Reinforced CFR carbon layup: Endurace CFR employs Toray T1100 and T800 carbon fibres for strength and exclusive YS80 pitch-based fibres for 10% extra head tube stiffness (Aeroad CFR: 103 N/°, Endurace CFR: 115 N/°), requested by pro riders for all-out anaerobic efforts and handling precision on the cobbles.
  • 35 mm tyre clearance: Enough space for the latest wave of faster, wider rubber for compliance, traction and confidence over rough surfaces, and over 4 mm ISO clearance to shed mud.
  • 205 W in the wind tunnel: Creating an all-road racer that holds pace with the world’s fastest frames was a challenge. The Endurace CFR tests within just one watt of the benchmark Aeroad CFR at 45 km/h.
  • Hardcore hardware: From titanium cockpit screws manufactured in Germany to double-sealed ceramic hybrid headset bearings, Endurace CFR stands up to the world’s worst riding conditions.
  • Beyond industry standards: The Endurace CFR is tested far beyond industry standards for road bikes as impact loads on the rear axle, increased loads for falling mass impacts on the front wheel and fork, and overloading the seat tube uses lab tests to replicate the punishment coming from racing hard across cobbles, ensuring the Endurace CFR is the most reliable race bike in the field.

  • VCLS Aero comfort seatpost: A world-first for aero seatposts that are typically built for speed, not comfort. The design and precision layup on the groundbreaking SP0093 VCLS Aero seatpost boost vertical compliance by over 25% compared to a rigid equivalent.
  • Race fit: The Endurace CFR features the same Sport Pro Geometry proven on the Aeroad and Ultimate enabling pro riders to seamlessly switch between race setups.
  • PACE Technology: The simplest way to achieve the perfect fit, the award-winning PACE Bar (Performance Adaptive Cockpit Ecosystem) unlocks a range of height and width adjustment with a single TX25 tool, while a range of drop options - Classic, Race or Compact drops - cater for individual rider fit preferences. No steerer cuts. No spacer stacks. No brake bleeds.
  • New RACE Bar option: Available to upgrade for MyCanyon Customisation customers or as an aftermarket option, the CP0053 RACE Bar comes with a signature V-shape design and monocoque construction to maximise material efficiency and geometric stiffness. Its 20 mm lower effective stack height and 10 mm longer reach offers a more aggresive and aerodynamic racing position (providing a 2 W saving at 45 km) and it shaves 120 g in weight over the CP0048 PACE Bar. Both the RACE Bar and the PACE Bar are compatible with any of Canyon's latest Aeroad, Ultimate or Endurace bikes.
  • Crank it down: The new Endurace marks the first road product family at Canyon to make the full shift to shorter cranks (for size M, now 165 mm, down from 172.5 mm), opening the rider's hip angle, reducing join stress and making it easier to spin a higher cadence. Different crank lengths can also be specified within the MyCanyon programme.
  • MyCanyon Customisation: For the personal touch, riders in Europe can configure their Endurace CFR from launch with a range of upgrade options.

Proven on the cobbles

The Endurace CFR has already seen action and been ridden to victory on the cobbles this spring. Carys Lloyd of Movistar Team became the first rider to record a win in a hectic final sprint at Ronde van Brugge, before Mathieu van der Poel laid down a marker with a 70 km attack over the bergs of Flanders to win a nail-biting E3 Saxo Classic.

Heading into the climax of the Spring Classics season at Paris-Roubaix, Canyon pro riders from Alpecin-Premier Tech, Movistar Team and CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto will have freedom to select between the three-time winning Aeroad CFR and the new Endurace CFR for the best setup to match the conditions on the day.
