After huge results in 2025, familiar faces are lining-up for Canyon in 2026: Noa Filippi, Valentina Corvi, Luca Schwarzbauer, Jenny Rissveds and Thibaut Francois-Baudry
It’s fair to say that the 2025 XC campaign was one of the best ever for Canyon. New signing Jenny Rissveds (SW) delivered one of the great career comebacks, winning the Women’s Elite World Championships and an incredible eight World Cup rounds and the XCC and XCO European Championships. Alongside her, we witnessed the rise of under-23 talent Valentina Corvi (IT) who won the overall Under-23 Women’s XCO World Cup and the U23 XCO European Championship title.
On the men’s side, Luca Schwarzbauer (DE) won the XCO and XCC German national championships and took a podium place at the Val di Sole World Cup round. Thibaut Francois-Baudry (ES) won the Spanish under-23 XCO title and impressed with an under-23 World Cup podium at Lake Placid. And young talent Noa Filippi (FR) tasted that winning feeling at Junior level, winning Portugal Cup Melgaço, French Cup Remiremont and Marseille-Luminy, and Swiss Cup Gränichen.
With the perfect blend of youth and experience, the 5-person Canyon XC Racing team will be hoping to build on 2025’s 31 wins and 62 podium places during the coming 2026 season.
Canyon XC Racing team manager Sébastien Francois: “Last year we spoke about how our line-up hit all the marks with a mix of leadership, energy and fresh fire. One year on, with some incredible momentum and something exciting up our sleeves, we’ll really be cooking on gas this year.”
With the XC Racing team’s first wins coming courtesy of Schwarzbauer (Elite XCO) and Francois-Baudry (U23 XCO) at the Internacionales Chelva season opener, followed by another with for Francois-Baudry and podium places for Corvi and Schwarzbauer at the Shimano Super Cup in Banyoles, the momentum is certainly there. And if the rumours are to be believed, it looks like something new might be happening with the team’s Lux World Cup race bike too. While there’s no official word on any changes yet, the team's early season victories suggest something exciting could be following soon.
The Canyon XC Racing team will once again be aiming for World Cup podiums and World Championship rainbow stripes, and to inspire cross country fans across the globe. The opening round of the 2026 MTB World Cup starts in South Korea between 1-3 May.
Before that though, you can catch Jenny Rissveds partnering with her husband Simon Andreassen of Orbea Fox Factory Team, and Luca Schwarzbauer with Alpecin-Premier Tech's Sam Gaze at the 8-day Cape Epic mountain bike stage race, which takes place in South Africa between March 15-22.
