Embargoed until Tuesday 13 January 2026: Fans of challenging trails and gravity riding can rejoice—Canyon's popular Spectral:ON and Torque:ON e-MTBs are back in stock and ready to unleash their renowned power and performance.

Both bikes will now come with a long-lasting 800 Wh battery, reinforced with a highly-durable aluminium housing, integrated cleanly into the downtube for a low centre of gravity and confident handling.

The bikes

The Spectral:ON is Canyon’s climb-crushing, corner-carving, full-power trail bike for ripping afterwork loops or blazing big, backcountry epics. Coming with a mullet wheel set-up for agile, nimble handling, plus 155 mm Triple Phase suspension and a 160 mm fork, it’s smooth and efficient for powering over small rocks and roots but composed and near-bottomless on huge hits.

The Torque:ON meanwhile is a high-performance e-MTB designed for shredding trail, sending jumps and bringing you back to the top of the hill for more. 175 mm of hard-charging rear travel, and burly 180 mm forks makes the Torque:ON ready to lap the roughest trails and boost the biggest jumps.

Both come with Shimano’s EP801 which dishes out 85 Nm of torque and as much as 600 watts, powered by a new 800 Wh aluminium-housed battery from Darfon.

The battery

Let’s take a look at what makes this battery an industry-leading prospect:

  • It is one of the first complete aluminium batteries on the market, including both the housing body and the end caps, which means it can withstand even rougher rides.
  • Every interface point on the aluminium housing is now double-sealed to prevent water-ingress, and there are two new internal membranes to prevent moisture build-up and water ingress, giving it a dust-protected and waterproof-rating of IP57.
  • Certified by SGS, a leading global institute, this battery has withstood extensive lab and field testing against altitude, weather, and mechanical stresses. Its sealing and construction makes it incredibly robust and hard-wearing.

  • It uses the latest cell technology to pack a punch with greater efficiency, running on 5.6 Ah (ampere-hour) cells rather than 5.0 Ah, which means fewer battery cells are used, saving weight and improving the centre of gravity of the bike.
  • Charging is boosted by CAN communication on the charger, so it can quickly charge to 80% then charge the remaining 20% optimally for when you need to use it. This smart charging allows for faster charging than the previous generation batteries. An 80% charge takes 3+ hours and a full charge of the 800 Wh battery now takes 5 hours.
  • In terms of weight, the new 800 wh aluminium battery is 150g lighter than its 900 Wh predecessor.
  • With an 800 Wh battery this e-MTB still delivers huge range and performance – up to 85 km or 1900 m of climbing on a single charge – meaning that you’re going to need a rest long before your battery does.
