Defending champions, rising stars, an unmissable race, and custom MyCanyon frames for CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto, Movistar and Fenix-Deceuninck riders.
While the men’s Tour de France is still in full swing, attention is quickly shifting to the most prestigious event in women’s cycling. The 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, running from July 26 to August 3, is set to be the most demanding edition to date.
For the first time the race includes nine stages, covering 1,165 kilometres and a brutal 17,240 meters of elevation gain. Legendary climbs such as the Col de la Madeleine and strong competition promise high-stakes drama and a fierce battle for the overall victory.
Now in its fourth year, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift has become the defining moment in the sporting calendar, not only putting the world’s best female cyclists in the spotlight but also showing the rapid rise and growing visibility of women’s professional cycling. With shorter daily distances and smaller team sizes than in the men’s race, the women’s Tour delivers a highly dynamic and unpredictable format – racing is often more aggressive, strategies shift quickly and every stage offers an opportunity to make a decisive move.
The 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift kicks off with a classics-style parcour of rolling hills and punchy climbs in Brittany. The race then transitions through three flatter stages favouring sprinters before heading into the Massif Central, where back-to-back mountain stages will begin to test the contenders for the overall classification. After a brief chance to recover during the hilly stage 7, the final weekend in the French Alps will determine the outcome. Stage 8 ends on top of the Col de la Madeleine, a hard 18-kilometre climb that rises to 2,000 meters above sea level. The final stage, with three major climbs packed into just 124 kilometres, offers one last, brutal challenge before the finish in Châtel, where the race winner will be crowned.
Leading the charge for CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto is Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney, who captured hearts and headlines in 2024 by winning the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift with a margin of just four seconds, the closest win in Tour de France history.
“When I crossed the line I was so happy that it was over. I didn’t think I’d done enough to win but then Beth from the team whispered ‘I think we have it’ and all the voices started to scream in my earpiece. The emotions were crazy. I’m extremely proud we managed to finish it off. The emotions we felt were so special that I feel like I want it again.” – Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney
She returns as the defending champion, supported by her team CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto, aiming to secure back-to-back victories and solidify her legacy.
Among those challenging her is Marlen Reusser, riding for Movistar, who had a standout season with stage race wins at the Vuelta a Burgos, Tour de Suisse and a strong performance at the Giro d’Italia Women. Known for her consistency and strength in the mountains, Reusser will be a serious contender for the general classification.
The rising star of last year’s Tour, Puck Pieterse of Fenix-Deceuninck, is another name to watch out for. After winning a stage and the youth classification in 2024, she’s returning with confidence and momentum, ready to shine again with her unique blend of power, precision and poise.
“Technically, she’s extremely skilled. Physically, she has the right body style. It’s also a mental aspect: she wants to win races. But she’s also very relaxed, so it’s a combination of things that makes her lethal on the bike.” – Philip Roodhooft (General Manager Fenix-Deceuninck) on Puck Pieterse.
The opening stage, with its classics-like terrain, may be the perfect fit for her strengths. Her teammate, Pauliena Rooijakkers, who finished third overall last year, adds further depth to a team that will be targeting both stage wins and the general classification.
