Ben Coates takes on consumer-focused role as Canyon looks towards inspiring growth in unprecedented time for US cycling industry.
Canyon Bicycles is proud to announce a significant hire for its US business, their new US general manager, Ben Coates.
Ben joins Canyon as the head of one of the highest profile locations outside the company’s headquarters in Germany, tasked with accelerating Canyon’s growth in the US market.
After Canyon’s operations began in Carlsbad, California in 2017, the US business has grown rapidly to encompass sales, marketing, and warehousing operations, as well as an expanding servicing network, all now coming under Ben’s stewardship.
Ben brings over 20 years bicycle industry experience to the role, gained through retail, sports marketing, product management, business director, managing director and CEO positions at significant brands in the cycling industry.
His experience includes a deep knowledge of customization, which Ben will bring to Canyon as the roll out of the MyCanyon program gathers pace in the US. Ben’s most recent position was as CEO of a boutique MTB brand, providing him with solid understanding and knowledge of running a US bicycle business.
