Stunning yellow Aeroad CFR paint design follows unique techniques used in Canyon's 'MyCanyon' customised artwork.
A win right off the bat on the opening stage of the world's biggest bike race is the stuff Tour dreams are made of. So it's somewhat fitting that Alpecin-Deceuninck's Jasper Philipsen should have done so on a dream bike - his very own customised 'MyCanyon' design - and now his reward is not only a yellow Tour de France leader's jersey but a matching yellow Aeroad CFR bike to go with it.
That eye-catching yellow is no ordinary flat colour though. The paint technique, pioneered by Canyon senior graphic designer Lukas Beck follows the same pattern used on the Carina design in the MyCanyon Mano collection and is achieved through a unique hand-stamping process that looks three-dimensional under the surface.
Upon Jasper's stage 1 win on July 5th, several of these yellow Canyon frames were duly dispatched to the Alpecin-Deceuninck mechanics to be built and photographed ahead of Stage 2 between Lauwin-Planque and Boulogne-sur-Mer.
The complete bike takes Canyon's 995g Aeroad CFR frame - wind-tunnel proven to be one of the fastest in the pro peloton - and adds Canyon's aero seatpost and width-adjustable aero cockpit, Selle Royal saddle, Shimano Dura-Ace C60 wheels and drivetrain, and Pirelli P Zero tyres.
Apart from the yellow colour - which is a money-can't-buy design - the complete bike in a similar specification and Alpecin-Deceuninck artwork is available from Canyon.com. European customers looking to add a twist of individuality with MyCanyon artwork customisation will have to be a little patient though - the programme launches in Europe at the end of July - but for a sneak preview, visit any Aeroad CFR product page on Canyon.com, change the region to North America or Asia, and you'll be able to run through all the customisation options.
Starting with stage 2, Jasper now will ride his custom yellow Aeroad CFR for as long as he continues to lead the General Classification standing. With a four second lead going into the hilly stage towards the French coastline, followed by a flat stage coming on stage 3, we may be seeing a lot more of these yellow Canyon Aeroads on our screens during the 2025 Tour.
For more on Jasper Philipsen's Tour preparation, join the superstar sprinter in training in this Youtube video as he prepares for the 2025 race. For the Belgian, winning a Tour sprint means ‘playing the game’, whether that’s knowing where your rivals are, putting them on your wheel, staying calm in the chaos, or being aggressive to hold your ground. As Jasper says, everyone plays the game, so if you don’t do it, you won’t be first across the line.
