CANYON ENTERS WHEEL MARKET WITH CARBON GRAVEL WHEELSET IN COLLABORATION WITH RENOWNED HUB MANUFACTURER DT SWISS

Canyon's wheelset debut sees creation of after-market GR 30 CF performance wheels, with more wheelsets planned for 2026.

Embargoed until 11:00 CEST, Thursday 2 October 2025: Since 2002, Canyon has carved a formidable reputation in the cycling world, creating award-winning bikes, supporting professional teams to win the world’s biggest bike races, and pushing the boundaries of innovation and engineering in the sport. This year though a new chapter begins, with Canyon making its first foray into the world of performance bike wheels.  

The first entry in the lineup is the Canyon GR 30 CF, weight 715 g (incl. rim tape) for the front and 810 g (incl. rim tape and with Microspline freewheel) for the rear (1525 g for the pair). Designed specifically for Canyon’s 2025 Grizl gravel bike, these wheels combine low weight, a progressive wide rim design, and ever-dependable reliability. The 30 mm deep carbon fibre rim boosts aerodynamics and ensures cross wind stability, while the 27 mm internal and 33 mm external hookless rim width is the ideal interface for wide, tubeless gravel tyres, run at low pressures for comfort, speed and grip. 

For precision-engineered internals, Canyon have teamed up with renowned component brand DT Swiss. The DT Swiss 350 Spline hubs have an unbeatable reputation for reliability and performance, offering fast engagement, simple freehub servicing, and easy spoke replacement. Laced to these high-quality hubs are high-end DT Swiss Aerocomp spokes, known for their strength, lightness, and aerodynamics.  

With their typically clean branding, Canyon wheels complement the design language of Canyon bikes perfectly. Plus a Canyon tech box, printed on the rims, provides total clarity around tyre compatibility and tyre pressure ranges. Clear, customer-centric information where it’s needed, not buried in a manual.
