2024: A year to remember

As years go, it’s hard to top what Canyon athletes achieved in 2024 –the brand’s riders secured a series of remarkable victories at some of the most prestigious races on the calendar – but you can bet your bottom dollar they’ll have the bikes to raise the level once again this year.

If you need a reminder, 2024 started out in fine style with Mathieu van der Poel capturing the imagination of the road racing world with an exceptional double Classics triumph at the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix. Meanwhile his Alpecin-Deceuninck teammate Jasper Philipsen also made headlines by clinching three stage wins at the Tour de France and winning Milan-San Remo.

In a thrilling finale, Kasia Niewiadoma secured the Yellow Jersey at the Tour de France Femmes, achieving a stunning last-gasp GC victory on Alpe d’Huez. Chloe Dygert struck gold for the US at the Paris Olympics in the team pursuit, with a further silver medal in the road race at the World Championships in Switzerland highlighting her all-round prowess and multi-discipline versatility.

But 2024 wasn’t all just about the big hitters: the next generation of stars also made their presence firmly felt on the international stage last year. Puck Pieterse underlined her status as one of the top young riders in the sport, winning U23 World Championship road race gold and taking home the White Jersey at the Tour de France Femmes. And Cat Ferguson capped her season with two junior World Championship titles and is poised to continue her success story in 2025.

2025 Canyon road lineup: prime talent, prime objectives

If 2024 set a high bar for Canyon then a refreshed roster of top-tier talent representing Alpecin-Deceuninck, Fenix-Deceuninck, Movistar Team, and CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto, all backed by the fastest bike in the pro peloton, might just see results getting even better.

  • Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck): the Dutch sensation has grand plans for 2025, focusing on defending his Cyclocross World Championship title and building on his dominance at the Spring Classics over the coming months. With his spectacular riding style and phenomenal all-round speed, once again in 2025 the sky is the limit for one of the best riders to have ever graced the peloton.
  • Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck): After a successful 2024 brought three stage wins at the Tour de France, Philipsen’s sights are set on the classics, including Paris-Roubaix, Milan-San Remo, and the Tour of Flanders, as well as the Tour de France Green jersey, with his powerhouse sprints set to make the difference when the chips are down.

  • Kasia Niewiadoma (CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto): As the reigning Tour de France Femmes champion, Kasia’s primary goal for 2025 is to defend her title. However, as an incredibly versatile multi-discipline rider with top-five finishes at major Classics in 2024 including the Tour of Flanders, Strade Bianche, Flèche Wallonne, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Spring Classics wins are a firm focus for the 30-year-old.
  • Chloe Dygert (CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto): The American has clearly stated her goals for the season: a World Championship title in the time trial and strong performances at the Tour. Her exceptional versatility on both road and track makes her one of the most impressive all-round Canyon athletes in ‘25.
  • Rosa Klöser (CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto): A young German rider embarking on her debut season with CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto in 2025, Rosa isn’t just a top road racing talent, but a strong contender on the gravel too. One to watch over the coming seasons.
  • Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto): The Danish rider, who has consistently been among the best and most consistent in the UCI Women’s WorldTour in recent years, will further bolster CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto’s efforts in one-day classics and stage races.
