CANYON RELEASES ‘MACH874’ ARTWORK USED AT PARIS OLYMPICS ON ITS AEROAD, LUX WORLD CUP AND ROADLITE:ON BIKES

In celebration of its athletes' performances in Paris this summer, Canyon releases special-edition ‘MACH 874’ versions of its Aeroad, Lux World Cup and Roadlite:ON bikes

Embargoed until Friday 16^th August, 11:00 CEST: This summer’s Olympic Games saw 40 Canyon riders either aiming for glory, or simply taking their chance to represent their nation and pit themselves against the world’s best. Canyon athletes competed in Track cycling, Road cycling, Time Trial, Triathlon and Cross Country mountain biking and each of their bikes was decked out in Canyon’s speed of light-inspired ‘MACH 874’ artwork.

Now, to celebrate their performances, Canyon is releasing three limited-edition designs so you can pay tribute the heroics of your favourite riders.

• Will you attempt to emulate World Road champion Mathieu van der Poel or World Gravel champion Kasia Niewiadoma by purchasing the blisteringly-fast Aeroad CFR MACH 874 performance road bike in Canyon’s MACH 874 colourway?

• Or perhaps you’re more inspired by national champions Luca Schwarzbauer, Puck Pieterse or Loana Lecomte and their performances with the Lux World Cup CFR MACH 874 on the cross-country mountain biking course?

• If you don’t need an elite race-ready bike, but are instead looking for a sleek, urban chic way of commuting, Canyon’s Roadlite:ON CF 9 LTD MACH 874 might be the e-bike that answers your needs.

The MACH 874 design came from Canyon’s creative director Ultan Coyle who took the inspiration of Paris as the city of light together with the high-speed performances of the athletes to create a speed-of-light inspired design, otherwise known as MACH874.

Each bike was designed with a prism colourway on the forks and a deep blue/grey base colour with silver accents and an iridescent Canyon logo that changes colour as light hits it.

The Aeroad CFR MACH874 is a proven winning machine, built with Canyon’s CP0048 adaptable PACE Bar aero cockpit and aero seatpost, and equipped with Shimano’s Dura-Ace drivetrain, brakes and powermeter, along with DT Swiss’s aero-engineered ARC 1100 wheels with 50 mm rims, shod with Continental’s super-fast, tubeless-ready GP 5000 tyres.

The AEROAD CFR MACH 874 retails for 11,999 EUR.

The Lux World Cup MACH874 is Canyon’s cross-country rocket, designed with one of the lightest full-suspension MTB frames on the market, meaning it climbs like a dream, yet its geometry and shock tuning allows it to rip descents with confidence-inspiring control too.

This version comes with a FOX 32 Step Cast Factory fork, a FOX Float Dual Piston System Factory Shock with handlebar-mounted lock out control, Shimano XTR shifting and braking systems, plus DT Swiss’ fastest cross-country wheelset, the XRC 1200. Retail price 7,999 EUR.

The Roadlite:ON CF 9 LTD MACH874 is a fast, flat bar e-bike for city speed. It comes with a compact and lightweight Fazua Ride 60 motor, matched with a 430 Wh battery with a connected 150-lumen LightSKIN Ultra Mini light and a Supernova TL3 PRO rear light that adapts its light settings to match your braking.

Talking of braking, the Roadlite:ON CF 9 LTD features Magura’s MCi hydraulic disc brakes with neat internal cable routing, providing highly responsive power to handle sudden stops.

Topping things off is SRAM’s high-performance XX1 Eagle AXS wireless shifting groupset with a 12-speed 10-50T cassette and single 48T front chain ring. The Roadlite:ON CF MACH 874 retails for 6,499 EUR.
