Whether you are looking for a playful trail toy, an awesome adventurer, or just need one bike that can handle almost every trail on the hill, the new Spectral is ready for it all. The new Spectral is All-Ways Trail.

TRAIL-TARGETED PERFORMANCE

In a world where bigger is often deemed better, Canyon have bucked the trend and refocused the new Spectral within the trail category. Reworking the kinematics and reducing the travel by 10mm creates a 150mm front and 140mm rear setup that boosts efficiency without sacrifcing capability. This 'just right' setup never feels like it’s sapping too much energy on the climbs, nor is it too little, so you can still smash the descents with confidence. Canyon’s previous Spectral geometry was almost spot-on for modern trail riding. The new Spectral CF refines this even further with a slightly steeper 76.5 degree seat tube for even better poise on steep climbs. The confident 64 degree head tube angle remains the same, while small but effective changes to the reach and stack help even out the sizing spread, making it easier for riders find the perfect fit. Reduced seat tube lengths offer flexibility in sizing without compromising on seat post insertion or saddle-to-tire clearance.

RIDER-FIRST OPTIONS

Riders now have more choices with 29er or Mullet options available on all models in the new Spectral CF lineup, except in the USA where Canyon will only have 29er options available. Riders can also swap their setup later thanks to the new chainstay flip chip. Flip the chip to change the chainstay length to either 437mm for a 29er, or to 429mm for a Mullet, while the BB offset, head tube angle, and seat tube remain constant, ensuring both setups perform flawlessly on the trail. The expanded range of frame sizes now includes XS to XL, allowing anyone from 155cm to 203cm (5’1” to 6’8”) to dial in their fit on the new bike. (Note: XS is Mullet-compatible only. Canyon USA will only carry sizes S-XL with 29er options). Additionally, the geometry flip chip from the previous bike gives riders the chance to raise the BB height by 8mm and steepen angles by 0.5 degrees for more pedal clearance and sharper slow-speed handling.

REFINED ENGINEERING

The outgoing Spectral CF was an award-winning bike so, to take the latest version to the next level, Canyon has refined the new chassis from the chainstay to the headtube to create a class-leading trail bike.

At the back of the bike, slimmed down chain stays mean more compliance and composure in rough terrain. An ultra-sleek one-piece rocker provides a solid connection between both ends of the new chassis and reduces lateral loads reaching the shock, allowing the rear suspension to perform at its best.

STASH AND STORE

Integrated into the new CF frame are innovative internal and external storage solutions. The lid for the internal downtube storage uses a clever fiddle-free, super secure knee-lever mechanism that even the coldest, muddiest hands can operate. Inside, riders can stow away ‘every-ride’ essentials like a tube, CO2 canisters, levers and a multi tool, there’s even space for Canyon’s soon to be released lightweight MTB rain jacket down in there. Under the top tube there’s external storage mounts for additional spares or gear you want to keep easily accessible.

COMPLEMENTARY CONTROL

Standard on all models is Canyon’s innovative and revolutionary Keep It Stable (K.I.S.) steering stabiliser. With the help of inventor Jo Klieber, Canyon has adapted this technology to the new Spectral. K.I.S. to actively bring your bars back to the centre as you ride, improving steering and control. It helps you hold your line through the rough stuff, stay in control at high speeds and climb more efficiently. The pre-tensioned springs create a centring force that is consistent and predictable on every ride. Thanks to improving their manufacturing processes Canyon K.I.S. is standard on all Spectral bikes without an increase in the price. All bikes are also shipped with an easy to install blanking plate if riders prefer standard steering.

THE FINISHING TOUCHES

Small details make all the difference when out mountain biking and the Spectral has some well thought out pieces of kit to go with the bike. Soon after launch a custom-made 850ml Fidlock bottle will be available which lets riders carry more water on longer rides. A standard 600ml bottle also fits with a side loader bottle cage.

The brand new G5 stem keeps the Spectral looking clean and handling tight without the traditional knee-knocking double bolt clamp at the rear of the stem. Also piloted as part of this launch will be an innovative ‘print at home’ stem mounted Minitool holder. Canyon’s engineers have been running the design on their own bikes for some months and they’re making it available for you to try too, if 3D printing is your thing. The 3D printer file will be available to download here.

Talking of keeping things clean, our new two-piece mud flap reduces the dirt and debris that can get into the main suspension pivot. The two-piece, overlapping design co-rotates as the suspension moves to provide constant coverage without rubbing or making noise. Even if it's inevitable that dirt and dust will coat your bike at some point, our highly durable double-sealed bearings, fully guided internal routing and innovative replaceable thread inserts reduce the need for maintenance and make things easier when you need to do a rebuild.
