Five World Championship titles. One iconic bike. The Canyon Inflite’s palmarès is unmatched in modern cyclocross: in fact, no other bike even comes close. Now, the premier bike in the sport has got a major upgrade.
Based around the same design that took Mathieu van der Poel to victory at the 2023 Cyclocross World Championships, Canyon’s new Inflite CFR models now come with clean internal cable routing, super-efficient Ceramic Speed bottom brackets and Canyon’s sleek profile aero cockpits with 40 mm width adjustment to elevate your cyclocross performance to a whole new stratosphere
In the defining moments of their careers, when everything's on the line, the top riders in cyclocross pick the Inflite. It’s the most iconic bike on the scene, raced to glory by a who's who of the leading names in the sport – including Mathieu van der Poel, Puck Pieterse, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, Zoe Bäckstedt and Maghalie Rochette.
Mathieu van der Poel, who has won four Cyclocross World Championships on the Inflite, is vocal in his praise for the bike: “The Inflite’s handling is beautifully predictable... Something I really appreciate in a race bike,” states cyclocross’ leading athlete. Add in 2020 World Championship honours in the hands of Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado and a 2023 Dutch National Championship title and multiple UCI World Cup race wins with hard-charging wunderkind Puck Pieterse, and the Inflite sets the standard for all others to follow.
With the new Inflite CFR featuring complete cable integration for the first time ever, the most iconic bike in modern cyclocross has never been this clean. An overhauled fork and adjustable CP0018 Aerocockpit fully route all cables, so you can seamlessly carry the bike for a clear competitive advantage on the 'cross course.
With 40 mm of width adjustment in three distinct positions as well as 15 mm of height adjustment with zero cutting required, riders can also easily adapt the Inflite CFR’s adjustable CP0018 Aerocockpit to meet the demands of their next race – wider for more leverage on tight courses, narrower for aero gains. And athletes can switch as often as they need between setups, because the cockpit is fast and simple to adjust.
The Inflite CFR is a bike with World Championship intentions, and at the highest level only the best componentry will do. That’s why all Inflite CFR bikes come equipped with premium Ceramic Speed bottom brackets from the factory for hard-wearing, fast-spinning performance that lasts – rounded out with component sets that spare no expense.
The Shimano-equipped Inflite CFR Di2 Team (€7,499) comes fitted with Shimano’s latest and greatest 12-speed 9200-series Dura-Ace Di2 shifting with a cross-optimised 36/46 chainset and an 11-34 cassette, DT Swiss’ top-line CRC 1100 Spline carbon wheels, super-accurate crank-integrated Rotor Aldhu 24 Inspider power meter, and Canyon’s own premium shock-absorbing S14 carbon comfort seatpost.
Alternatively, the Inflite CFR Team LTD (€7,499) uses a fully wireless one-by SRAM Red setup (40-tooth chainring, 10-36 cassette), crank-integrated Quarq power meter, and the same premium DT Swiss CRC 1100 wheels and finishing kit as the Inflite CFR Di2 Team.
The 2024 Inflite range also introduces a fresh pro-inspired colour palette, including an exclusive Team Alpecin-Deceuninck colourway on the Inflite CFR Di2 Team, adding a touch of World Cup style to its speed.
Alongside the two pro-level Inflite CFR models, two CF SLX bikes and a single CF SL bike make the Inflite’s benchmark performance available to aspiring racers from grassroots to elite levels.
Both the SRAM Force eTap AXS-equipped Inflite CF SLX 8 eTap (€4,999) and the Ultegra Di2-equipped Inflite CF SLX 8 Di2 (€5,499) feature high-end power meters from Quarq and Rotor respectively, are built around the superlight Inflite CF SLX frame, and roll on DT Swiss’ CRC 1400 Spline deep-section wheels to deliver speed worthy of elite-level racing.
Arguably representing the best value available in a cyclocross race bike today, the €3,999 Inflite CF SL 7 eTap comes fitted with a one-by SRAM Rival eTap AXS setup, Quarq power meter, fast DT Swiss CRC 1600 Spline carbon wheels and H31 cockpit in a package tailor made for aspiring racers looking to take their performances to the next level.
The complete Inflite CFR and CF SLX lineups will be launched on Thursday 28 September at canyon.com. Cyclocross fans can also witness the Inflite in action by tuning into the UCI Cyclocross World Cup, where riders including Mathieu van der Poel, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, Puck Pieterse, Zoe Bäckstedt and Maghalie Rochette will showcase its exceptional capabilities on the international stage.
