KOBLENZ, GERMANY; 1 MARCH | EMBARGO UNTIL 2 MARCH (CEST) — Canyon’s Hometown Hero is back with a fresh look and the same do-it-all attitude. Originally launched in 2020, the Stoic will roll into 2023 with three new colours and updated specs. It’s had some subtle changes, but it’s just as versatile, capable, and affordable as ever. Simple means just that, keeping things effortless to equal nothing but fun. Ideal for a wide range of riders, from first- timers to the seasoned vet looking for a bombproof hardtail to add to the collection (N+1, right?).
From street to skate park, the Stoic is just as capable on technical trails. Head to the hills or the pump track, this hardtail can handle it all. Easy to maintain thanks to internal cable simple routing and threaded BB, it’s a tough, no-fuss trail bike that can take some punishment. Tested and approved against the same standards as Canyon’s EWS bikes, the only thing riders need to worry about is where to ride. The Stoic’s progressive geometry remains unchanged and combined with a longer reach, slack headtube and low top tube – it’s a stable, playful bike that can handle the ups, downs and being in the air. Available in a wide range of sizes from 2XS to XL, the smaller frames have 650lb wheels, and for taller riders, 29-inch wheels on the larger frames.
The updated line-up features three models: the Stoic 2, 3 and 4, each with 6061-alloy frame. The 29er M-XL frames have 140mm travel up front, and sizes 2XS-S have 150mm front suspension and 27.5 inch wheels. The Stoic 2 is the most affordable bike in the range, followed by the mid-range Stoic 3, and at the top of the range, the Stoic 4. In the case of the Stoic, affordable doesn’t equal cheap. Each model is built to be ridden, balancing performance with top solid components without pricing people out.
This season each model has undergone a refresh with new colourways: the Stoic 2 in Shockwave Black, the Stoic 3 in Thermite Red and Stoic 4 in Silver. Further updates to the range see the Stoic 2 get an all-new groupset, brakes and wheelset. For the Stoic 3, tweaks include a stiffer, burlier RockShox 35 Silver TK fork and sharp, powerful SRAM Guide T brakes. Not to be outdone, the Stoic 4 has been updated with reliable Shimano drivetrain, punchy Shimano Deore brakes and upgraded wheelset.
The updated Stoic range will be available from 2nd March, exclusively on canyon.com.
