KOBLENZ, 22 JULY 2021 | EMBARGO UNTIL 30 JULY 2021, 11 AM (CEST) — Four Cyclocross World Championships. The reigning Men’s Elite World Championship-winning bike. Countless World Cup race wins. With its unrivalled resume of consistent success at the highest levels of the sport, the Canyon Inflite is hands-down the most dominant ‘cross bike of the modern era. And now, the best bike on the scene is back for another winning season between the tape.
The 2022 Inflite range is based around the existing Inflite frame platform, the very design that has racked up win after win in the pro ranks since its launch back in 2017. The result of a form-follows-function philosophy, every inch of the Inflite is shaped to meet the demands of modern cyclocross racing – most strikingly with its game-changing, silhouette-defining top tube shouldering kink, which creates more space in the main triangle and increases seatpost exposure, simultaneously improving comfort and making carrying significantly easier. And now for 2022, the Inflite is available in a package that’s fresher and faster than ever with a range of striking new colours and exciting component specs, featuring cross-specific gearing ratios, multiple power meter options, and a pick of one-by and two-by drivetrains. In short, the new Inflite is ready to dominate the field. And do it in style.
The flagship Inflite CF SLX 9 is built around the exact same CF SLX frame raced by Canyon pros and features premium components across the board. A one-by SRAM Force eTap AXS groupset guarantees never-miss-a-beat gear changes, and a spider-integrated SRAM Force eTap power meter makes it possible to record, monitor, and analyse race and training efforts to get the maximum from every ride. Reynolds AR41 carbon wheels are light and roll fast through deep mud thanks to a deep 41 mm rim profile. The bike’s touch points are selected with performance and comfort in mind, with a compliant Canyon S14 carbon seatpost and one-piece Canyon H31 Ergocockpit rounding out a component set that exudes class.
Two CF SL models complete the three-bike launch. The Inflite CF SL 8 is made for serious racers who don’t want to break the bank and comes with a range of high-end performance features unprecedented on a CF SL-level bike. It’s the first-ever Canyon bike with the new SRAM Rival eTap AXS groupset, and the first ever Inflite CF SL bike to feature power meter technology, courtesy of SRAM’s spindle-integrated Rival AXS unit. The bike also rolls on premium Reynolds AR41 carbon wheels. The Inflite CF SL 6 makes race-ready performance available at a more attainable level than ever, with a one-by Shimano GRX drivetrain, Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes, and robust, tubeless-ready alloy DT Swiss Cross LN wheels. All three models in the range roll on Schwalbe’s high-end X-One ALR TLE gumwall tyres.
The 2022 Canyon Inflite range will be available from Friday 30 July 2021, exclusively at canyon.com. The Inflite CF SLX 9 will cost €4,299*, with the CF SL 8 and CF SL 6 available at prices of €3,499 and €1,999 respectively.
