READY TO GO FOR SPRING – CANYON ANNOUNCE REFRESHED 2021 ROADLITE:ON HYBRID E-BIKE

KOBLENZ, 25 FEBRUARY 2021 | EMBARGO UNTIL TUESDAY 2 MARCH (11AM CET/10AM UTC) — When Canyon launched the Roadlite:ON in August 2019, it spelled the end of a common myth – that e-bike riding had no place in a dynamic, healthy lifestyle. With its sleek design, the Roadlite:ON screams Canyon’s high-performance DNA from every angle – an impression underlined by the choice of Fazua’s lightweight, compact Evation drive system. And now, right on time for spring and the start of the 2021 cycling season, there’s a refreshed Roadlite:ON with a range of new and exciting updates.

The 2021 Roadlite:ON range will comprise two models – the Roadlite:ON 6 (€2,699*) and Roadlite:ON 7 (€3,399*), both featuring all the same proven core features as last year’s bikes. To unite maximum speed with rock-solid day-in-day-out performance, the Roadlite:ON is built around a lightweight, robust aluminium frame, contributing to an outstanding low total weight of only 16 kg. The bike perfectly combines a dynamic, sporty geometry with smart comfort features: a Canyon-designed one-piece carbon cockpit (Roadlite:ON 7 only), 35 mm wide tyres, carbon fork, and ergonomically optimised Ergon grips. Internal cable routing underlines the bike’s pared-back, lightweight aesthetic. And what’s more, hydraulic disc brakes and precise Shimano 1x12 groupsets on all models deliver years of carefree, reliable performance.

Both new Roadlite:ON models also feature the new-and-improved 250X version of Fazua’s Evation battery. The revised design is now remote-operated, letting the rider switch the motor on and off without needing to remove the drivepack from the frame. Besides this, the drive system offers the same outstanding package as before – 250 Wh battery, down tube-integrated, touch-operated control unit, three support levels (Breeze, River, Rocket), up to 120 km range** and simple smartphone control using the Canyon Fazua app. The entire drive unit can also be removed from the frame and replaced by a cover – creating storage space on longer rides and reducing the bike’s weight to about 13 kg.

The new 2021 Canyon Roadlite:ON models are available from 2 March 2021, exclusively at canyon.com.
